Our perfectly hydrated and sterilised naked oat grain bags for expanding your mushroom spawns.

Our oat grain are perfect for standard expansions of spawn. They break up uniformly to help with even distribution of mushroom spawn media and have a good nutrient profile (see below).  They are smaller in size than the other grains, so help with greater surface area for slightly faster colonisation. Our oats are lightly malted that releases sugars which mycelium love. The transparent bags are perfect for viewing the spawn and are not full, allowing easy manipulation and breaking up of the spawn. The air exchange filter allows oxygen in and carbon dioxide out while retaining moisture. The filter also reduces contamination, though it doesn't eliminate all spores, such as trichoderma from entering, it does reduce contamination to a large degree with good hygienic practice.
